The Ravens have promoted offensive lineman Ryan Jensen from their practice squad to the active roster.

Jensen was drafted in the sixth round last year out of Colorado State-Pueblo.

He was released prior to the start of the regular season and then signed an upgraded practice squad contract that paid him $6,500 per week for $110,500 for the year (above the usual $6,300 rate per week and annual $107,100 salary).

Jensen will now make the veteran minimum salary rate of $29,100 per game.

Jensen was diagnosed this year with sleep apnea during the preseason. He underwent a sleep study that showed that the sleeping disorder was preventing him from breathing for as long as 35 seconds at some points, a potentially life-threatening condition.

Jensen now uses a breathing apparatus at bedtime and says he feels much better in terms of energy and his mood.

The Ravens are expected to place starting cornerback Asa Jackson (posterior cruciate ligament, right knee) and rookie safety Terrence Brooks (PCL, medial collateral ligaments, right knee) on injured reserve.

That would leave one more roster vacancy to fill.

The Ravens are signing former Wake Forest defensive tackle Zach Thompson to the practice squad, according to a source.

The 6-foot-5, 265-pounder has played for the Denver Broncos and New York Jets.

Thompson is from Ashburn, Va. and went to Stone Bridge High School where he was an all-state defensive lineman.
