Ravens' Marshal Yanda happy to hit the field again

Ravens Pro Bowl offensive guard Marshal Yanda returned to practice Monday with no setbacks to his surgically repaired shoulder.

Yanda was limited in drills as the Ravens ease him back into a full workload after surgery to repair a torn rotator cuff following the Super Bowl.

"It's good, no problem," Yanda said. "It felt good to be out there. I got a little individual work, and it's good."

Yanda is expected to play at some point during the preseason, but he could be held out of the Ravens' second preseason game Thursday night against the Atlanta Falcons at M&T Bank Stadium.

"We'll see what happens," Yanda said. "It was nice to just get back out there and get back in it."

Center Gino Gradkowski said Yanda's return provides a major boost to the offensive line.

"Oh, absolutely, for sure, anytime you get a Pro Bowler," Gradkowski said. "Marshal is a great leader for us, just by example. He doesn't say much, he's a quiet guy, but when he has to, he will. He's a tough guy, gritty guy and definitely a good leader for us upfront."
