On Wednesday, rookie left tackle Ronnie Stanley said his injured foot was healing and estimated that his chances of playing in the Ravens' road game against the New York Giants on Sunday were good.

On Thursday, the sixth overall pick in this year's draft backed up his words by returning to the practice field at the team's training facility in Owings Mills. It marks Stanley's first appearance at practice since Sept. 23.

Stanley's appearance is encouraging for the team because right guard Marshal Yanda and right tackle Rick Wagner were not present during the portion of the morning session open to the media. Both players sat out Wednesday's practice because Yanda is battling a shoulder injury and Wagner is dealing with an injured thigh.

Outside linebacker Terrell Suggs returned after getting the day off Wednesday, but outside linebacker Elvis Dumervil and inside linebacker C.J. Mosley appear to both be missing a second consecutive practice. Dumervil has played in the past two games since overcoming a prolonged absence after offseason foot surgery. Mosley injured his hamstring in Sunday's 16-10 loss to the Washington Redskins.

Wide receiver Steve Smith Sr. (ankle) is not present after sitting out Wednesday's session. Devin Hester Sr. (thigh) is absent after participating on a limited basis on Wednesday.

Two more players who were limited – wide receiver Mike Wallace (ribs) and cornerback Shareece Wright (back spasms) – are active and practicing.
