Ravens' Elvis Dumervil reportedly buys $2.3 million house in Florida

Ravens strong-side linebacker Elvis Dumervil recently bought a $2.3 million mansion in Parkland, Fla., according to Realtor.com.

The home, which is located about 45 minutes north of his hometown (Miami), features seven bedrooms and seven bathrooms.

Dumervil, who signed a five-year contract with the Ravens in March for a maximum value of $35 million, spoke to The Sun last week about the challenges of growing up in Miami's Liberty City area.

"You see guns, you see violence, you see people being shot at in a parking lot," Dumervil said. "I didn't know any better until I left for college and realized there was more out there. I grew up in a church and my mom was a hard-working lady so I knew right from wrong. I made a lot of bad decisions, too, but I learned from them."

With this new home purchase, Dumervil will be close to his hometown but worlds away from the neighborhood where he grew up.
