Ravens' defensive linemen Arthur Jones, Brandon Williams remain sidelined

Ravens defensive lineman Arthur Jones remains sidelined with an undisclosed illness.

The team hasn't said what Jones is dealing with. He has been sidelined since playing in the Ravens' third preseason game against the Carolina Panthers.

He has already been ruled out.

"Art had an issue," Ravens coach John Harbaugh said last week. "It's not football-related. I'm going to  leave it to Art to explain what it was. It's more of a personal health thing  that's not serious. We just held him back this week."

With Jones sidelined, former Dallas Cowboys first-round Marcus Spears could get the start in his place.

Meanwhile, rookie third-round defensive lineman Brandon Williams isn't practicing and is in a walking boot after injuring a toe on his right foot.

Also not practicing: tight end Dennis Pitta (right hip surgery), rookie center Ryan Jensen (foot surgery) and wide receiver Deonte Thompson (sprained left foot).

The Ravens still intend to place Pitta on the injured reserve-designated to return list within the next 24 hours, according to a team source.

If the Ravens follow through with the transaction today or Wednesday, they could bring back tight end Billy Bajema, which was in their discussions when they cut the veteran Saturday.

Outside linebacker Pernell McPhee was the lone change to the injury report, added to the list as limited as he continues to deal with knee problems.

The Broncos made no changes to their injury report with cornerback Champ Bailey (foot), tight end Joel Dreessen (knee) and running back CJ Anderson (knee) not practicing.

Offensive guard Chris Kuper (ankle) was limited.

Participating fully: defensive end Robert Ayers (Achilles), offensive tackle Ryan Clady (shoulder), quarterback Brock Osweiler (left shoulder) and wide receiver Wes Welker (ankle).
