Ravens cut wide receiver Marcus Rivers with Brandon Stokley addition

The Ravens have released former University of Buffalo wide receiver Marcus Rivers with the signing of veteran wide receiver Brandon Stokley.

Rivers, 6 feet 3, 220 pounds, was cut last year by the Green Bay Packers after going undrafted.

Rivers has also had stints with the Calgary Stampeders and Edmonton Eskimos in the Canadian Football League.

As a senior, he caught 60 passes for 615 yards and two touchdowns. He was a second-team All-Mid-American Conference selection.

As a junior, he caught 50 passes for 690 yards and five touchdowns.

He played basketball in high school and was an All-Western New York selection. Rivers has run a 4.57 40-yard dash, 36-inch vertical leap, a 10-4 broad jump and a 6.63 three-cone drill.

Rivers competed in the NFL super regional combine last year and played in the Players All-Star classic.
