Ravens starting center Jeremy Zuttah returned to practice on a limited basis Thursday, an encouraging sign as he continues to rehabilitate a surgically repaired hip.

Zuttah took part in individual drills after undergoing surgery this offseason to clean up bone spurs.

Meanwhile, right offensive tackle Rick Wagner remains sidelined after undergoing surgery in December to repair a Lisfranc foot sprain.

"Yeah, we do feel optimistic," Ravens coach John Harbaugh said. "I can't say for sure because they're going to have to get cleared from a physical, but Jeremy goes through all the non full-speed stuff and he looked good. It seems like they're on schedule, both of those guys, so we'll see."

Zuttah dealt with the hip injury throughout last season, with the bone spurs affecting the hip joint when he got into his blocking stance.

Zuttah missed just one offensive snap last season as the Ravens finished 12th in total offense and allowed just 19 sacks after giving up 48 the previous season.

Zuttah allowed one sack and 23 quarterback pressures. He graded out solidly as a run blocker, but not nearly as high for his pass blocking.

The Ravens acquired Zuttah from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last year in exchange for their 2015 fifth-round draft pick. The team then signed Zuttah to a five-year, $18 million contract extension last spring that includes $6.5 million guaranteed.

The Ravens concluded their spring practices without any major injuries to key players. Undrafted rookie cornerback Julian Wilson broke his leg and is out for the season after being placed on injured reserve. Wide receivers Michael Campanaro (strained quadriceps) and Aldrick Robinson (sprained MCL) are out until training camp.

"Good fortune, I was thinking about and reading about luck a little bit and good fortune," Harbaugh said. "We feel fortunate every day when you're out here and you feel fortunate to be around the kind of players we're around. How do guys get so much good luck?

"Sometimes, you ask yourself and I think part of it is just take more chances, take advantage of more opportunities, do more, work more, act on more things, talk to more people, build more relationships. It's amazing how much luck you have when you do those type of things. So we feel lucky every single day."
