Break out the bubbly, the Ravens have finally signed a player! The team just announced that it has brought back linebacker Chavis Williams, who played five games for the Ravens last season.
The Ravens didn't give Williams, 22, an offer as an exclusive-rights free agent before free agency began Tuesday, but the team is bringing him back to compete for a roster spot in training camp.
Williams, who signed with the Ravens as an undrafted rookie free agent, was a special teams player and made two tackles after the team promoted him from the practice squad in November.
The 6-foot-3, 227-pound outside linebacker played four seasons at Alabama, making 17 tackles.
If the Williams signing doesn't excite you, it's expected that the Ravens, who are hosting free-agent guard Evan Mathis today, will be more active the next couple of days now that the market is starting to come back down to earth.
