The Ravens have been awarded veteran linebacker Robert James off waivers from the Atlanta Falcons.
The Ravens put in a claim on James after he was released Saturday by Atlanta during the final major roster cutdown.
James, 29, is a 5-foot-11, 224-pound former Arizona State player who recorded a career-high 11 tackles last season. He tied for the team lead in special teams tackles with 10 in kick coverage.
He is entering his fourth NFL season after being drafted by Atlanta in the fifth round in 2008.
Meanwhile, former Dallas Cowboys and Jacksonville Jaguars defensive tackle Jeris Pendleton visited the Super Bowl champions on Sunday. He wasn't immediately signed to a contract.
Pendleton, 29, had one tackle last season in four games for the Jaguars.
A 2012 Jaguars seventh-round draft pick, Pendleton was cut by the Cowboys this summer.
Pendleton was one of the oldest rookies in NFL history when he was drafted last year out of Ashland University in Ohio.
Pendletown was offered a scholarship at Michigan State out of high school, but the 6-foot-2, 334-pounder never enrolled due to academic and family reasons.
The Chicago native joined the working force after high school for the next six years prior to walking on at Joliet Junior College in 2008 and then transferring to Ashland.
