Ravens adding running back Lonyae Miller to practice squad, cut D.J. Bryant

The Ravens are adding running back Lonyae Miller to their practice squad today, according to a league source with knowledge of the situation.

Miller is a former Fresno State running back who had previous stints with the Dallas Cowboys and the Oakland Raiders.

Miller signed with the Cowboys after going undrafted two years ago and spent his rookie year on their practice squad.

The 6-foot, 216-pounder signed a reserve/future contract in January with the Raiders.

Miller has no NFL statistics, appearing in four games for the Cowboys two seasons ago.

Update: The Ravens cut linebacker. D.J. Bryant, a Randallstown High graduate, from the practice squad and announced the addition of Miller.

The Ravens could use a linebacker on the active roster with Jameel McClain set to go on injured reserve with a spinal cord contusion, but have yet to make a roster move today.

They have two practice squad linebackers: inside linebacker Nigel Carr and outside linebacker Adrian Hamilton.

The Ravens could also activate middle linebacker Ray Lewis (right triceps surgery) from the injured reserve-designated to return list.
