Packers' Finley fined $15,750 for block on Suggs; Elam not fined

Green Bay Packers tight end Jermichael Finley was fined $15,750 by the NFL for unnecessary roughness, a punishment stemming from his crushing block on Ravens outside linebacker Terrell Suggs.

Finley delivered a high shoulder shot to Suggs' facemask in the first quarter of the Packers' 19-17 win Sunday, upending him off his feet. An NFL spokesman said Finley "unnecessarily struck a defenseless player in the head and neck area."

"Thanks to NFL for the fine for playing football," Finley wrote on his official Twitter account.

Ravens rookie free safety Matt Elam wasn't fined for his low tackle on Randall Cobb, which is expected to sideline the wide receiver for six to eight weeks with a broken fibula.

Elam wasn't assessed a penalty for the legal low tackle that angered quarterback Aaron Rodgers and offensive guard T.J. Lang. Lang wasn't fined by the NFL for shoving Elam after the hit.

Ravens right guard Marshal Yanda wasn't fined for his illegal hands to the face penalty.
