Ravens veteran tight end Owen Daniels remained sidelined with leg soreness Tuesday.

Daniels hasn't practiced in the past week, but coach John Harbaugh emphasized Monday that the two-time Pro Bowl selection isn't injured.

Daniels was limited to five games and 24 receptions last season with the Houston Texans due to a broken leg. In training camp, Daniels told The Baltimore Sun that he's 100 percent recovered from the leg injury from last season.

"There's no tear, there's no pull," Ravens coach John Harbaugh said. "He has some swelling in his leg with use, and we're playing it safe right now rather than pounding his legs out. It's training camp. He's an older guy, and I'm just following [head trainer] Mark [Smith's] instructions on it. He feels like he needs some rest still, so that's what he's getting. But there's no injury there."

Daniels is playing under a one-year contract that includes a nonguaranteed $1 million base salary. He can earn an additional $1 million if he triggers incentive clauses for receptions and playing time. He made the trip with the team to Dallas, but didn't suit up.

Meanwhile, several veteran players were given a day off to rest, including wide receivers Steve Smith and Torrey Smith and defensive end Chris Canty. Offensive tackle Jah Reid, who has a concussion, isn't practicing Tuesday.

Cornerbacks Jimmy Smith (bruised chest), Lardarius Webb (lower back) and Asa Jackson (ankle) aren't practicing, and neither are offensive guard Will Rackley (concussion), nose tackle Terrence Cody (hip surgery, physically unable to perform list) and rookie offensive tackle Brett Van Sloten (sprained medial collateral ligament).

Running back Ray Rice practiced for the second consecutive day after suffering a shoulder bruise against the Cowboys.
