The good news for the Ravens is that 50 of 53 players on the active roster practiced for the second consecutive day. The bad news is that the three players missing Thursday morning were the same trio who sat out Wednesday's session.
Outside linebacker Elvis Dumervil, cornerback Jerraud Powers and rookie running back Kenneth Dixon were absent from practice. Dumervil announced Wednesday that a setback related to his foot surgery in the offseason will prevent him from playing in Sunday's season opener against the Buffalo Bills at 1 p.m. at M&T Bank Stadium.
Powers (ankle) and Dixon (strained medial collateral ligament in left knee) appear to be on the verge of joining Dumervil on the sideline.
Four players who practiced fully Wednesday despite being listed on the team's injury report – tight ends Dennis Pitta (broken finger) and Maxx Williams (knee), left guard John Urschel (shoulder) and cornerback Shareece Wright (foot) – were active Thursday.
