The NFL is holding a Back to Football Run series for fans that includes a stop in Baltimore.
The league is inviting fans in several cities to take part in a running event on Sept. 4 in Baltimore to celebrate the start of the season and the defending Super Bowl champion Ravens. The running event is the night before the Ravens' road season-opener against the Denver Broncos, set for M&T Bank Stadium.
"We are excited to celebrate the Super Bowl champion Baltimore Ravens and the city of Baltimore with the NFL Back To Football Run and NFL Play 60 Fun Run the night before the Ravens open the season in Denver," NFL vice president of fan strategy and marketing Peter O'Reill said in a statement. "We are pleased to be working with Competitor Group to bring the NFL Back To Football Run Series to NFL cities across the country to kick off the 2013 season."
Other teams that will have the 5K and 10K races includes the Dallas Cowboys, Denver Broncos, Indianapolis Colts, Minnesota Vikings, New Orleans Saints, New York Jets, San Diego Chargers, St. Louis Rams, Tennessee Titans, and Washington Redskins.
Part of the registration fees will be donated to the Ravens' charitable foundation. To register, go to NFLRunSeries.com.
"We are proud to kick off the 2013 NFL season in such a special way," Ravens vice president of marketing Gabrielle Dow said in a statement. "Our fans deserve a memorable celebration, and running on the field at M&T Bank Stadium will surely be something they will never forget."
