Ravens quarterback Matt Schaub is inactive Sunday against the Seattle Seahawks, leaving undrafted rookie Bryn Renner as the backup to Jimmy Clausen.

Schaub did not practice all week because of a chest injury suffered last week in a loss to the Miami Dolphins, and the addition of Renner from the practice squad indicated that his status for the game even as a backup was in doubt.

Renner was with the Ravens through training camp, but was cut from the practice squad in the second week of the regular season.

The offense Clausen will command is even more short-handed than usual, with tight end Crockett Gillmore (back) also inactive. Rookie Maxx Williams, who missed last week's loss to Miami with a concussion, will be the lead tight end.

Longtime practice squad tight end Konrad Reuland, who has been with the organization for parts of the last two seasons, will back him up.

Tight end Richard Gordon, who was signed as a free agent Tuesday, is inactive, leaving the Ravens with just two tight ends.

Wide receiver Marlon Brown is inactive for the third straight game with a back injury. Rookie defensive tackle Carl Davis is inactive for the third straight game, as is cornerback Tray Walker. Defensive end Kapron Lewis-Moore is inactive for the seventh straight game.

Wide receiver Chris Matthews will make his Ravens debut.
