Lardarius Webb leaves practice Monday with hamstring issue

Ravens wide receiver Steve Smith Sr. plans to make this his last season in the NFL. "I feel like this is the best place, if it's going to be the end this would be the best place for it to end," said Smith. (Kevin Richardson)

Cornerback Lardarius Webb left practice Monday with a hamstring issue, coach John Harbaugh said after practice.

"Webby had a little grab in his hamstring, so we pulled him out," Harbaugh said.

Webb, the projected starter opposite Jimmy Smith at cornerback, was covering rookie wide receiver Darren Waller during a full-team drill when he pulled up in coverage.

Waller was several steps past Webb already when Waller made the catch, and Webb didn't return to action after the play. He went into the locker room shortly thereafter and did not return.

On his way inside, Webb joked with former Ravens cornerback Chris Carr, who was waiting near the door, so the injury didn't appear to dampen his spirits.

Webb also missed the first day of training camp after failing his conditioning test, and said on Thursday that he was just happy to be healthy again after missing all of training camp and three games in 2014 with a back issue.
