Kubiak rules out A.Johnson

Houston Texans coach Gary Kubiak said five-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Andre Johnson (right hamstring) is out for Sunday's contest against the Ravens.

Speaking on a conference call with Baltimore media Wednesday morning, Kubiak mentioned Johnson's status while discussing the reasoning behind acquiring former Ravens wide receiver Derrick Mason from the New York Jets Tuesday night.

Kubiak said the timetable for Johnson's return is still undefined.

"He's day-to-day," Kubiak said. "He's coming off the procedure that he had. He's doing very well. He could possibly start some running this week. I don't know. We'll see. It's still going to take a little bit of time. We list him day-to-day until he starts to recover from this thing. We're expecting him back pretty quickly."

Johnson registered 140 yards and two touchdowns on nine catches in the Ravens' 34-28 overtime win against Houston on Dec. 13. Prior to his hamstring injury, Johnson ranked fourth in the NFL in yards (316) and tied for third in receptions (21).
