Jimmy Smith suffers thigh injury on Chiefs' opening touchdown, declared out

Ravens cornerback Jimmy Smith suffered a thigh injury in pursuit of Charcandrick West on the Chiefs running back's 38-yard, first-quarter touchdown run Sunday at M&T Bank Stadium.

He will not return, the team announced.

Smith, who missed the final eight games of the 2014 season with a Lisfranc foot sprain, has been one of the team's most reliable players in 2015. He had played 874 of a possible 885 snaps so far this season.

In his absence, Lardarius Webb will play cornerback opposite Shareece Wright, with rookie Tray Walker and Jumal Rolle, who was added from the practice squad Tuesday, also in the mix.
