Jimmy Smith, Brandon Stokley practicing; Elvis Dumervil sidelined

Ravens starting cornerback Jimmy Smith returned to practice Wednesday on a limited basis after being cleared under the NFL concussion testing protocol.

Smith left Thursday night's game after a violent collision with Pittsburgh Steelers rookie running back Le'Veon Bell.

Wide receiver Brandon Stokley practiced Wednesday and was limited after leaving the game against Pittsburgh with a left knee injury.

Pro Bowl nose tackle Haloti Ngata is practicing after dealing with a sprained left knee in recent weeks and is no longer listed on the injury report.

Outside linebacker Elvis Dumervil (sprained ankle) and rookie safety Brynden Trawick (high-ankle sprain) didn't practice.

Besides Smith and Stokley, defensive end Chris Canty (shoulder), cornerbacks Asa Jackson (thigh) and Lardarius Webb (abdominal) were limited.

For the Minnesota Vikings, running back Adrian Peterson didn't practice due to a groin injury and quarterback Christian Ponder remains out with a concussion. Matt Cassel is slated to start at quarterback.

Also not practicing: linebacker Larry Dean (knee), cornerback Josh Robinson (chest), tight end Kyle Rudolph (foot) and safety Jamarca Sanford (ankle).

Defensive end Jared Allen (finger) and linebacker Chad Greenway (wrist) were limited.

Defensive end Everson Griffen (toe), running back Matt Asiata (shoulder), defensive tackle Fred Evans (knee) and safety Andrew Sendejo (toe) participated fully.
