The Ravens are banged-up as they prepare for Sunday's game against the Carolina Panthers.

Several starters aren't practicing Wednesday. That list includes cornerback Jimmy Smith (knee, ankle), outside linebacker Terrell Suggs (groin), rookie defensive tackle Timmy Jernigan (meniscus in knee), defensive end Chris Canty (calf, knee) and offensive tackle Eugene Monroe (knee).

Smith was injured Sunday against the Cleveland Browns, but stayed in the game. He's not expected to miss Sunday's game against the Carolina Panthers.

Suggs missed the final few series Sunday, but he downplayed the severity of the injury after the game. Suggs is expected to play this week, at this point.

Jernigan missed the game and the Ravens are hoping to avoid him having surgery.

Canty was in and out of the game, but is expected to attempt to play Sunday.

Monroe was close to being pulled out of the game due to the obvious pain he was in and his decreased mobility. Monroe had surgery Wednesday and will miss this game and potentially more weeks as he recuperates from a minor procedure

Meanwhile, starting running back Bernard Pierce was practicing Wednesday after missing Sunday's game with a strained quadriceps. He was listed as participating fully.
