After an off day from training camp yesterday, the Ravens returned to the field this morning and got back three players who have missed some time with injuries.

Defensive backs Jimmy Smith and Matt Elam, and defensive tackle Timmy Jernigan were all on the field for the Ravens. Smith missed one practice with a calf injury sustained in last Friday's practice. Elam essentially missed the team's last two practices with an undisclosed injury. Jernigan was sidelined for a little over a week with a ribs injury.

The Ravens still had 14 players not practicing, a list headed by left tackle Ronnie Stanley. The sixth overall pick sustained a soft-tissue injury in Saturday's open practice at M&T Bank Stadium, and is expected to miss a little time.

Heading into the week of their first preseason game, here are five Ravens whose stocks are rising, and five whose are dropping.

Also not on the field were wide receivers Michael Campanaro, Chris Moore (lower leg) and Chris Matthews (soft-tissue injury); tight ends Crockett Gillmore (hamstring) and Dennis Pitta (finger); and cornerbacks Shareece Wright and Maurice Canady (undisclosed).

Running back Lorenzo Taliaferro (foot), wide receivers Steve Smith Sr. (Achilles) and Breshad Perriman (knee), and outside linebackers Terrell Suggs (Achilles) and Elvis Dumervil (foot) remain on the physically unable to perform list. Rookie defensive end Bronson Kaufusi (ankle) is expected to miss the entire season.

End zone

Coach John Harbaugh reiterated that Stanley, who left last Saturday's practice with a soft-tissue injury, isn't dealing with a significant issue. … While Terrance West (Northwestern High, Towson University) and rookie fourth-round pick Kenneth Dixon continue to get many of the headlines, both Harbaugh and running backs coach Thomas Hammock were highly complimentary of Justin Forsett's play in training camp. … The Ravens continue to work in some different options at kick returner with West becoming the latest player to get a shot in practice at returning kicks.
