was slated to participate in

Lardarius Webb

's charity softball game Sunday, but his absence was understood after he reportedly tore his Achilles tendon during an Organized Team Activity on Thursday. He is expected to miss the upcoming season.

Webb, who tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee in his rookie year, said the news of McAdoo's injury was stunning.

"I talked to him the other day when I first found out. It was shocking," Webb said. "I wasn't able to tell him, but it was just shocking to us. So I didn't really tell him too much."

Inside linebacker

Jameel McClain

said he was confident that McAdoo would rebound.

"The advice I give to anybody facing adversity is you've got to keep fighting," McClain said. "You've got to keep striving towards your ultimate goal because there are definitely going to be setbacks. McAdoo knows setbacks. … So hopefully, he'll come back strong, and I know he will."
