Haloti Ngata, Marlon Brown inactive for Ravens today against Bears

Ravens nose tackle Haloti Ngata and wide receiver Marlon Brown were scratched for today's game against the Chicago Bears at Soldier Field due to knee injuries.

Ngata didn't practice all week due to the left knee injury suffered against the Cincinnati Bengals and was listed as questionable. He attempted to practice Friday, but was unable to go.

The Ravens will likely go with Terrence Cody at nose tackle. Reserve defensive linemen Brandon Williams and DeAngelo Tyson are both active today.

Brown tested out the knee during warmups, but he didn't appear confident while making cuts. Brown tore his anterior cruciate ligament a year ago while playing for Georgia, and the knee still occasionally bothers him.

Brown was added to the injury report Friday as questionable. Only four wide receivers are active: Torrey Smith, Jacoby Jones, Tandon Doss and Deonte Thompson.

All of the other Ravens listed as questionable, including strong safety James Ihedigbo (toe), middle linebacker Daryl Smith (hamstring) and cornerbacks Lardarius Webb (groin) and Jimmy Smith (groin), are active.

The Ravens also scratched wide receiver Brandon Stokley, safety Omar Brown, center Ryan Jensen, linebacker John Simon and running back Bernard Scott.

Scott has been inactive every game since being signed to a one-year, $715,000 contract.

The Bears had previously ruled out quarterback Jay Cutler (high-ankle sprain), linebacker Lance Briggs (shoulder) and defensive tackle Jay Ratliff (groin).

Bears starting tight end Martellus Bennett is active today after being listed as questionable with an ankle injury.

The Bears also scratched defensive end Shea McClellin (hamstring), long snapper Patrick Mannelly (calf), Jonathan Scott and James Brown.
