Haloti Ngata hoists 150-pound dumbbell to get ready for camp

Ravens Pro Bowl nose tackle Haloti Ngata is hoisting some heavy metal in advance of training camp.

The 6-foot-4, 340-pound five-time Pro Bowl selection was featured in an interesting workout video posted by his brother, Vili Ngata.

"Big bro Haloti Ngata Doing 150 lbs Get Up today at workouts!!" Vili Ngata wrote on Facebook. "ASAP Training."

First, Haloti Ngata hefts the 150-pound dumbbell over his head with his right hand. Then, he lowers himself to the ground while balancing the weight over his head.

Following a brief rest, Ngata stands up while keeping the weight above his head to complete the exercise.


Ranked 45th on the NFL Network top 100 players list, Ngata recorded 52 tackles and 1.5 sacks last season during his first year as a full-time nose tackle.

A 2006 first-round draft pick from Oregon, Ngata has 414 career tackles, 23.5 sacks, three interceptions and four forced fumbles.

He's entering the fourth year of a five-year, $61 million contract that includes $37.1 million guaranteed, including a $25 million signing bonus and $10 million option bonus.
