Gorrer getting past bad day vs. Browns

The Ravens got a critical AFC North win against the Cleveland Browns Sunday, but it wasn't the best of days for Danny Gorrer.

The third-year cornerback thought he recorded the first forced fumble of his career when he stripped wide receiver Jordan Norwood early in the second quarter. But Cleveland challenged the on-field ruling, and video officials agreed, saying that Norwood had not completed the pass and turning Gorrer's caused fumble into a pass breakup.

"When he caught the ball and was running, I thought, 'Somehow, I've got to get the ball out for my team,' and I just punched it and it came out," Gorrer said. "I thought it was a fumble, but I can also live with the PBU [pass breakup], too."

In the fourth quarter, Gorrer made an uncharacteristic error when he caught a Sam Koch punt in the Browns end zone. Gorrer, who thought he was standing out of the end zone and inside the 5-yard line, was featured on the "C'mon Man!" segment of ESPN's Monday Night Countdown where he was roasted by analyst Tom Jackson.

"Yeah, unfortunately. I got a lot of tweets about that, and a lot of my family called me," Gorrer said with a sheepish grin. "I've just got to know where I'm at. I knew where I was, but when I was looking up, the ball kept drifting. When I looked down, I was like, 'I'm going to be on "C'mon Man!"' I was like, 'I can't believe this.' But it is what it is. I guess it happens to the best of us."
