Former Ravens, Maryland and Poly wide receiver LaQuan Williams has been invited to the inaugural NFL veteran combine.
Williams will join former Ravens linebacker Brandon Copeland (Gilman) and safety Mana Silva as well as several others, including defensive end Jamaal Anderson, cornerback Aaron Berry and running backs Michael Bush, Mikel Leshoure and Felix Jones on March 22 at the Arizona Cardinals' practice facility. Michael Sam, the first openly-gay player in league history, has also accepted an invitation to the combine.
Measurements, combine results and video will be shared with all 32 NFL teams.
"Combines have long provided draft-eligible players with the forum needed to showcase their skills to NFL teams," said former Ravens six-time Pro Bowl center Matt Birk, the NFL director of football development. "The NFL veteran combine wil give veteran free agents a similar opportunity to work out in front of club personnel in a streamlined process."
Williams was signed to the Ravens' practice squad late last season after being cut by the Ravens before the start of the regular season.
Williams originally signed with the Ravens as an undrafted free agent in 2011. He spent two seasons with Baltimore, contributing primarily on special teams before being cut twice in the past year.
Two seasons ago, Williams signed with the New England Patriots before being cut in November without playing in a game.
Williams hasn't played in a regular-season game since 2012. He was released by the Ravens through an injury settlement in 2014 after dealing with a hamstring injury.
