Evans unfazed about potentially fewer snaps

The anticipated return of wide receiver Anquan Boldin would seem to indicate that Lee Evans will surrender his starting role and line up as the Ravens’ third receiver.

Evans didn’t seem to argue against that line of thinking Wednesday, but he seemed unconcerned about such a possibility.

“Things may change,” he said. “They might try to do different packages, but I don’t know. I don’t know how it will play out. I think we’ll certainly have a three-wide package, things like that, like we did before. But I think guys will rotate in. You try to get guys in their best position, so whenever somebody’s number is called, you’ve just got to make plays.”

Evans, who caught just four passes for 74 yards despite being targeted 26 times in the regular season, started for Boldin in the team’s final two contests of the regular season but failed to record a reception.

Evans said he’s not seeking a specific number of snaps, just an opportunity to contribute.

“The only thing that matters now is the execution I have when I’m in there,” he said. “I think [if] we can do that, everything else will take care of itself.”
