Wide receiver Lee Evans said Thursday that he did not take a step back in his quest to return to the field and is planning to practice for the second straight day.
“Yeah, do a little bit more today and see what happens,” he said prior to Thursday’s session. “Yesterday was positive.”
Evans has not played since Sept. 18, troubled by a nagging left ankle injury. But he did practice Wednesday on a limited basis, which was a positive step in the right direction.
“It definitely feels good,” he said. “Makes you feel like a football player again, [to] get out there and put the pads on and run around a little bit. We’ve still got a little hill to climb, but it was good to get that step out of the way and still feel like you’re progressing forward.”
