Ravens left tackle Eugene Monroe and rookie defensive tackle Timmy Jernigan returned to practice Tuesday in advance of Saturday's AFC divisional round playoff game against the New England Patriots at Gillette Stadium.
Monroe was eased back into drills and appeared to be moving cautiously as he works his way back from an ankle injury that has sidelined him for the past two games.
The Ravens will evaluate how Monroe looks this week in practice and then make a decision on whether to return him to the lineup at left tackle or stick with undrafted rookie James Hurst. Monroe, who missed four games earlier this season after undergoing arthroscopic knee surgery, signed a five-year, $37.5 million contract last spring.
Hurst allowed six quarterback hurries against the Pittsburgh Steelers during an AFC wild-card playoff win at Heinz Field last Saturday.
Jernigan was injured against the Cleveland Browns and was carted off the field, injuring his foot and ankle. He downplayed the severity of the injury to The Baltimore Sun last week.
"I'm feeling good, so I'm ready to play," Jernigan said. "I feel like I can get back into the rotation. At the end of the day, that's the coaches' decision.
"I'm very hungry. To sit out the first game of the playoffs because of injury, it kind of gives you an extra fuel to your fire. So I'm ready to go."
Meanwhile, reserve wide receiver Marlon Brown wasn't practicing during the early portion open to reporters Tuesday.
