E. Reed, Suggs absent from early portion of practice

A pair of Pro Bowl starters in free safety Ed Reed and outside linebacker Terrell Suggs were absent from the portion of Thursday's practice open to the media.

Both Reed, a seven-time Pro Bowl selection, and Suggs, a four-time Pro Bowl choice, participated in Wednesday's session without being listed on the team's injury report. It's unclear whether their absence Thursday is a minor hiccup or a serious concern as the Ravens prepare for Sunday's visit with the Seattle Seahawks.

Inside linebacker Brendon Ayanbadejo (post-concussion symptoms) was also not present.

Center Matt Birk returned to practice after sitting out Wednesday with a neck injury. Wide receiver Lee Evans (left ankle), inside linebacker Dannell Ellerbe (hamstring), tight end Kris Wilson (calf) and rookie running back Anthony Allen (thigh) – all of whom were limited in practice Wednesday – were present. Rookie cornerback Chykie Brown (knee) also was there.

The Ravens practiced outdoors despite a steady yet light drizzle. According to weather.com, the forecast for Sunday in Seattle includes a 40 percent chance of showers and highs reaching the upper 40s.
