E. Reed, Carr, Zbikowski active vs. Cardinals

The Ravens welcome back some of their key performers in the secondary as safeties Ed Reed and Tom Zbikowski and cornerback Chris Carr are active for Sunday's home contest against the Arizona Cardinals.

Reed, the seven-time Pro Bowler, missed practice Thursday after suffering a stinger Monday night's 12-7 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars. But Reed returned to practice Friday – albeit on a limited basis – and was listed as probable on the team's final injury report of the week.

Carr (left hamstring) practiced fully for two straight days and was also probable. Carr has not played since Sept. 25 against the St. Louis Rams.

Zbikowski (post-concussion symptoms) fully practiced for the third consecutive day and was removed from the injury report.

The secondary, however, will not be at full strength. Cornerbacks Danny Gorrer (thigh) and rookie Chykie Brown (illness) have been deactivated.

It will be interesting to see who will replace Gorrer as the fifth defensive back in the defense's nickel packages. Rookie Jimmy Smith, who was limited to special teams against Jacksonville, is much healthier, but Carr is a experienced hand.

In addition to Gorrer and Brown, the team scratched wide receiver Lee Evans (left ankle), left guard Ben Grubbs (strained ligaments in right toe), inside linebacker Dannell Ellerbe (hamstring), outside linebacker Sergio Kindle and rookie running back Anthony Allen (thigh).

Rookie Torrey Smith and Andre Gurode are expected to make their fourth consecutive starts for Evans and Grubbs, respectively.

The eagerly-anticipated return of former Ravens tight end Todd Heap won't take place as expected because the Cardinals deactivated Heap, who will sit out his third consecutive game due to a strained hamstring.

Arizona scratched two more starters in free free safety Kerry Rhodes (foot) and outside linebacker Joey Porter (knee).

A pair of starters in running back Beanie Wells (knee) and wide receiver Early Doucet (quad) are active.
