Lions sign cornerback Asa Jackson off Ravens practice squad

Asa Jackson's former secondary coach in Baltimore is now his defensive coordinator in Detroit.

On Monday, the Denver Broncos claimed former Raven Justin Forsett off waivers, reuniting the veteran running back with his former coach, Gary Kubiak.

Former Ravens cornerback Asa Jackson will have a reunion of his own this week. Looking to add to depth for a banged-up secondary, the Detroit Lions signed Jackson to their active roster Tuesday. Jackson had been on the Ravens practice squad.

With the Lions, Jackson will again be coached by Teryl Austin, Detroit's defensive coordinator. Austin was the Ravens secondary coach when they drafted Jackson in 2012.

The Ravens signed Jackson to the practice squad on Oct. 18. He was promoted to the active roster about a month later, but was not active for any games.

He was waived on Nov. 26 before being re-signed to the Ravens practice squad three days later.

The Ravens haven't announced how they'll fill their open practice squad spot.
