MIAMI GARDENS, FLA. — Ravens starting left guard Kelechi Osemele left the game in the first quarter and didn't return due to back spasms that he first experienced during drills before kickoff.
Osemele was replaced by backup center A.Q. Shipley, who played the remainder of the game at left guard during the Ravens' 26-23 victory Sunday over the Miami Dolphins.
Ravens coach John Harbaugh praised Shipley for his work in a relief role. Shipley said he hadn't played guard since last season when he was with the Indianapolis Colts and rarely practices at that spot.
"I was used to the pressure situation at the end," Shipley said. "I hadn't gotten that many reps in practice at guard. Just from being at center, I know the offense and was ready to roll."
Ravens cornerback Lardarius Webb said he didn't aggravate his strained hamstring.
