Carr frustrated over lingering injury

When Ravens cornerback Chris Carr missed a game because of injury for the first time in his NFL career this season, he bought a hyperbaric chamber to aid healing. So far, it hasn't helped.

Carr has missed two games with a hamstring injury, and he missed practice Wednesday. When he met with reporters before practice, he voiced frustration with the injury.

"It's frustrating because up to this year, I never missed a game before," Carr said. "So, missing one game, I'm like, 'How do people do this?' It's been satisfying because we've been winning all these games, and what I told people all along is that we have, I think, five legit corners on our team that are starters in this league. And I'm not saying that to be nice, I'm saying that because I feel that's a fact. So I knew we were going to be fine. But now with me being gone, Jimmy [Smith] and Fox [Domonique Foxworth] out, we can't have anybody else get hurt. … Hopefully, when I get healthy, I'll be able to go back and contribute."

Carr, an eight-year veteran with 98 games under his belt, said he was making progress but insisted he wouldn't play again until he was healthy.

"Once I come back now, it's going to be like, I'm coming back and I'm going to stay back," he said. "There's going to be no indecision, like, 'Well, I feel kind of good.' I'm going to make sure when I come back I'm 100 percent because I can't go through this any longer."

Carr said he sleeps in the hyperbaric chamber.

"I'm trying to do everything I can to get back on the field. It's just been a very troubling situation. But I've been working hard," he said.
