Brandon Williams joins Ronnie Stanley as absences from Ravens practice on Thursday

Ronnie Stanley is not the only starter missing from Ravens practice on Thursday morning.

Nose tackle Brandon Williams was not present during the portion of the session open to the media. Williams, who has eight tackles in four starts this season, was not listed on the team's injury report distributed on Wednesday.

Stanley, the rookie left tackle, appears to be sitting out his fifth consecutive practice. The sixth overall pick in the 2016 NFL draft did not play in Sunday's 28-27 loss to the Oakland Raiders because of a foot injury, but said Wednesday that his foot is improving.

Return specialist Devin Hester Sr. and tight end Maxx Williams missed their second straight session. Hester, who has been bothered by a thigh ailment since last week, said Wednesday that he should be available for Sunday's game against the Washington Redskins. Maxx Williams injured his knee in the loss to Oakland.

Rookie cornerback Maurice Canady was placed on injured reserve. The sixth-round pick suffered a thigh injury in Sunday's game. He has been replaced on the active roster by safety Marqueston Huff, a former 2014 fourth-round pick of the Tennessee Titans who has played in 30 career games.

Outside linebacker Terrell Suggs and right guard Marshal Yanda were excused from practice.

Rookie running back Kenneth Dixon (strained medial collateral ligament in left knee) and cornerback Sheldon Price (thigh) are practicing.
