Bengals think they were better than Ravens

The final score of Sunday's AFC North showdown at M&T Bank Stadium shows that the Ravens defeated the Cincinnati Bengals, 31-24. But that doesn't mean that the Bengals agree that the Ravens are better.

"In my mind, we're better than those teams," Cincinnati tight end Jermaine Gresham said of the Ravens and Pittsburgh Steelers, who have beaten the Bengals in back-to-back weeks. "They're great teams and everything, but I think big mistakes killed ourselves in some areas, and we just have to get better."

Gresham wasn't alone. Middle linebacker Ray Maualuga felt similarly.

"We fought back and did what we could, but we still have this sour taste in our mouths because we felt that we were the better team," he said. "We gave them some plays out there that we could have done a better job on. The one touchdown in the middle of the field that was wide open, fumbling on the goal line, and the play where No. 82 [rookie wide receiver Torrey Smith] caught that ball in the back of the end zone. We came and did our job, but it wasn't enough. We felt though that we should have been the team that won the game."
