Mount St. Joseph graduate Kyle Fuller has signed his first NFL contract.
The Chicago Bears' first-round draft pick and cornerback from Virginia Tech has signed a four-year contract with a club option for a fifth year, according to the NFC North franchise.
Fuller's deal is worth $9.687 million, including a $5.365 million signing bonus.
Selected 14th overall, the Woodlawn native became the third Fuller brother to be drafted into the NFL, following older brothers Corey Fuller (Detroit Lions, sixth round 2013) and Vincent Fuller (Tennessee Titans, fourth round 2005).
A four-year starter for the Hokies, Fuller is first Virginia Tech cornerback to be picked in the first round since the Atlanta Falcons selected DeAngelo Hall during the 2004 NFL draft.
This was the second year in a row that a former Baltimore prep standout was drafted in the first round. Former Dunbar star Tavon Austin, a wide receiver from West Virginia, was selected eighth overall a year ago by the St. Louis Rams.
Fuller was a second-team Walter Camp All-American selection and a first-team All-Atlantic Coast Conference selection as a senior despite being limited to 24 tackles, two interceptions and 10 pass deflections as he was sidelined after undergoing sports hernia surgery.
Fuller was fully healthy by the NFL scouting combine after missing the Senior Bowl and ran the 40-yard dash in 4.49 seconds in February.
