Tight end Todd Heap was drafted by the Ravens the spring after they won their first Super Bowl. He then left the team after a productive 10-year run two seasons before the team was again crowned NFL champions.
However, Heap doesn’t dwell on not playing in a Super Bowl when he thinks about his time with the Ravens. If he has one regret, it was that he didn’t get to know some of his teammates better.
“I spent a decade there and it was 10 of the best years of my life,” Heap said. “I played with so many great players, guys that are the best in the world at their position. I wish I spent more time on learning everybody’s story. You look at them and think about what made them great, how they’re able to be successful. You realize that it’s more about the team and teammates and the camaraderie than anything else. Those are the things that you look back on and you miss and you cherish.”
