Pro wrestling Hall of Famer Ric Flair is hospitalized

WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair, 68, was hospitalized over the weekend. While initial reports had seemed to indicate it wasn't serious, a representative later indicated that he was dealing with “tough medical issues.”

Melinda Morris Zanoni, Ric Flair's agent and the CEO of Legacy Talent and Entertainment, sent out the following tweet just after midnight on Sunday night.

“Are u a Fan/Friend of Ric Flair? If so, we need prayers & positive energy 4 our Living Legend as he is dealing w/some tough medical issues.”

Ryan Satin of Pro Wrestling Sheet reported that Flair had been hospitalized for heart-related issues, something that Flair had dealt with in the past. However, at the time Zanoni claimed it was simply “routine monitoring.”

Flair, who went by “Nature Boy,” wrote about his prior heart issues in his 2004 autobiography To Be The Man. He said that he had developed alcoholic cardiomyopathy, which he described as a weakening of the heart muscles due to his years of partying.

WWE sent out a tweet with a link to an article explaining the situation, and retweeted many of their staff and wrestlers sending out their thoughts to Flair.
