Looking for the Westminster Dog Show on TV? Let’s review the channels, app and new streaming service to watch this year for the event that ultimately crown’s the nation’s top dog as Best in Show.
For more than three decades, you could watch the annual canine competition on USA Network, which was part of NBCUniversal. But in 2015, the dog show reached a new TV deal with Fox Sports that took effect with the 2017 show and moved coverage across two channels, one streaming service and one app.
If you get the Fox Sports Go app, you can watch breed judging for the Hound, Toy, Non-Sporting and Herding breeds from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. starting Monday. Also on the Fox Sports Go app, are the Junior Handler Preliminaries (8 a.m. to 5 p.m.), the Master Obedience Championship (8 a.m. to 5 p.m.). Selected coverage of breed judging will be broadcast on Nat Geo Wild from 1-4 p.m.
Fox Sports 1 and streaming service fuboTV will air will the Westminster Dog Show live in prime time (on the East Coast) Monday and Tuesday nights. A ”pre-game” show for the competition will kick off two nights from 7 to 7:30 p.m.
Monday night’s prime time telecast on FS1 and fuboTV will feature group competitions for Hound, Toy, Non-Sporting and Herding Breeds. Tuesday night on FS1 and fuboTV we get the Sporting, Working and Terrier breeds, plus the Best in Show announcement.
Fox Sports 1 can be found on DirecTV channel 219 for regular and HD, on AT&T Uverse channel 652 (regular) or 1652 (HD) and on Spectrum cable (formerly Bright House) channel 32 (regular) and 1153 (HD).
Nat Geo Wild can be found on DirecTV channel 283 (standard and HD) and on AT&T Uverse channel 266 (regular) and 1266 (HD).
