Infielders: B

Here we go again. The infield took another big hit when it was learned that Chris Davis would be suspended for the remainder of the regular season and beyond, but the Orioles keep finding ways to work around adversity. Newcomers Jimmy Paredes, pictured, and Kelly Johnson stepped into the breach, playing third base and each contributing a walk-off hit during the weekend series against the New York Yankees. With J.J. Hardy also missing some games with a sore back, Steve Pearce was the anchor of the infield, playing strong defense and batting .375 with a home run and four RBIs. Ryan Flaherty also had a solid week, with seven hits in 17 at-bats (.412), but Jonathan Schoop struggled badly, managing just one hit in 24 at-bats. Overall, the Orioles on the infield combined to bat .276 with a homer and 10 RBIs. Grade: B
