With weather concerns, Texas' Yu Darvish out and first pitch tentatively set for 8 p.m.

Tonight's Orioles-Texas Rangers game has a tentative start time of 8 p.m. — and a new starting pitcher.

The Rangers have scratched their ace, right-hander Yu Darvish (8-4, 2.42 ERA), and replaced him with right-hander Scott Baker (0-1, 5.80 ERA). The Rangers didn't want Darvish to begin his start, only to have it end prematurely because of rain. So Darvish's start likely will be pushed back until Friday, against the New York Mets.

At least there will be a game tonight. Or, at the least, there will be the start of a game. The forecast still doesn’t look promising throughout the night, but the sides are going to try to get it in as quickly as possible.

The Orioles have a 1:35 p.m. game Friday in Boston, so, as manager Buck Showalter likes to say, that’s going to be a travel challenge, regardless.
