Manny Machado dropped to seventh in lineup; Adam Jones back in center field

The Orioles play the rubber match of their three-game series against the Boston Red Sox tonight at Camden Yards.

If third baseman Manny Machado is going to drop the appeal of his five-game suspension, it won’t happen today. He is in the lineup, dropped to seventh, and playing third base.

After two days serving as the designated hitter because of leg soreness, Adam Jones is back in center field.

One other note: Miguel Gonzalez, who is on the 15-day disabled list with a right oblique strain, will start tonight on an injury rehab assignment at Double-A Bowie. He likely will pitch just once there and join the Orioles on Sunday (when he is eligible to come off the DL) or shortly thereafter.
