Orioles announce plans for 60th anniversary luncheon in August

On Wednesday afternoon, the Orioles announced plans to host a 60th anniversary luncheon, which will recognize the club's history and honor members of the Orioles Hall of Fame.

The event will be held at noon Aug. 8 in the Warehouse at Camden Yards, and organizers expect that at least 20 members from the Orioles Hall of Fame will be in attendance, including Brooks Robinson, Frank Robinson, Eddie Murray, Rick Dempsey, Jim Gentile, Milt Pappas, Don Buford, Ken Singleton, Mike Boddicker and Doug DeCinces.

The club will honor the Orioles Hall of Fame members following the team's game that night against the St. Louis Cardinals. The former players and coaches will be recognized with a fireworks and laser show.

Fans who purchase tickets to the luncheon will also have the opportunity to participate in a question-and-answer session with the Orioles Hall of Famers, enter in silent auctions and compete in raffles.

The Orioles have commemorated their 60th year by wearing jerseys featuring patches on the right sleeve. The patch includes the Orioles’ 1954 logo and its current one, and has stars marking each of the team’s three World Series championships.

Tickets to  the luncheon can be bought for $75 each by contacting Ann Serio of the Oriole Advocates at (410) 247-2703.
