Connolly's Hot Stove Talk in York, Pa.

While Ed Encina and Peter Schmuck are working every day and producing tons of copy from Sarasota, Fla., I’m taking a little bit of time off before I head down to Florida to join them in early March.

In the meantime, I am hosting my fourth annual charity Hot Stove Baseball Talk in York, Pa., this Wednesday (Feb. 19) at 7 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, 2215 Brandywine Lane, York.

Joining me will be featured guests Jim Duquette, former vice president of the Orioles and New York Mets and current baseball analyst for Sirius/XM Radio and Mel Antonen, baseball writer for and MASN and a Sirius/XM talk show host.

We’ll talk Major League Baseball – including lots of Orioles stuff – and then open it up to questions. It’s usually a pretty good time – and you’ll be helping out a good cause.

Although it is a free public event, there will be a freewill offering that will benefit the church’s youth ministry programs (which are fantastic).

There is plenty of parking, so don’t be worried if there is a little snow on the ground (and, given this winter’s brutality, there will be). The church is roughly 25 minutes north of the Maryland line on I-83 – so it’s not too far from Baltimore. For more information, call the church at 717-767-4673.

Come out on Wednesday and talk some baseball with us.
