BOSTON -- Chris Davis is officially No. 3.

 The Orioles’ slugging first baseman hit a deep fly to right center in the sixth inning Wednesday against Boston’s John Lackey for his major league-leading 47th homer of the season.

That puts Davis alone at third on the franchise’s all-time single-season list, breaking a tie with Jim Gentile, who hit 46 in 1961.

Brady Anderson’s 50 home runs in 1996 is the top mark in team history, with Frank Robinson’s 49 in his 1966 Triple Crown season in second place.

Davis also had a RBI single in the first inning and now has 120 RBIs on the season – with 28 more games to play. Miguel Tejada in 2004 holds the franchise’s single-season RBI record with 150.
