Chris Davis adds some more history with his 46th homer of the season

It doesn't look like the Sports Illustrated cover jinx will take hold in Baltimore — at least not yet.

With a swing on the first pitch he saw leading off the fifth inning Wednesday night against the Rays, Orioles first baseman Chris Davis continued to etch his name in the team's history book.

Davis' blast onto Eutaw Street was the 46th of the season, tying Jim Gentile for the third most home runs in a season by an Oriole.

It was the fifth time in his career Davis has homered onto Eutaw Street and the second time this year. Overall, it was the 74th Eutaw Street home run in Camden Yards history and the 40th by an Oriole.

The home run gave the Orioles a 4-2 lead in the fifth. It was the second Orioles home run of the game after center fielder Adam Jones' third-inning solo blast to center field.
