Road closures announced for Opening Day

Some streets will be closed long before the Orioles start their home opener against the Detroit Tigers at Oriole Park at Camden Yards at 3:05 p.m. today.

As of 6 a.m., parking restrictions were in effect for the following streets:

Pratt Street from Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard to Paca Street; east side of Greene Street (northbound) from Lombard Street to Washington Boulevard; east side of Eutaw Street (northbound) from Pratt to Lombard streets; Camden Street from Howard to Russell streets; north side of Conway Street (westbound) from Charles to Sharp streets; west side of Light Street (southbound) from Baltimore to Lombard streets.

Other roads will be closed as of 10 a.m.:

Eutaw Street from Camden to Pratt streets; Camden Street from Howard to Russell streets; Lee Street from Ramp D to Russell Street; Washington Boulevard from Paca to Greene streets; Hamburg Street from Russell to Leadenhall streets.

Northbound 395 will also be closed at Conway Street at approximately 4 p.m. today, with all traffic diverted onto Conway Street until baseball fans clear the stadium.

City officials encourage people who plan to attend the festivities to take public transportation because downtown parking will be limited since today is a weekday and garages will be full of regular customers.
