Wrap-up: Orioles 8, Athletics 3

How it happened: The Orioles' bats finally came to life with runners in scoring position, as the team went 5-for-11 in such situations. Ty Wigginton led the way offensively with a homer and four RBIs. Nolan Reimold drove in a pair of runs, and Nick Markakis and Lou Montaenez added RBIs as well. Orioles starter Brian Matusz turned in a solid outing, allowing three earned runs on eight hits and a walk while striking out eight.

He said it:: "We're starting the pennant drive. We won. The other stuff is a was;, it's a flush. You can't do anything about it. It's done, over with. All you can control is today. And we'll try to control what we're going to do tomorrow." -- Dave Trembley, Orioles manager

You said it: "To quote the late Jack Buck, 'I can't believe what I just saw'... Break up the O's.. They're INFUEGO !!!!!!!" -- frosty, commenting on Orioles Insider
