Baltimore Sun

The Orioles open their 19th season at Camden Yards today. Here's a look at the activities scheduled:

•Stadium gates open at noon. Each fan will receive a 2010 schedule/car magnet upon entry. Roving musical groups will perform on Eutaw Street and the main concourses.

•The Orioles will take batting practice from 12:25 p.m. to 1:25 p.m. The Blue Jays will take theirs from 1:25 p.m. to 2:05 p.m.

•Pre-game ceremonies begin at 2:30 p.m. To celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Orioles' second World Series victory, over the Cincinnati Reds, Orioles greats Brooks Robinson (the 1970 World Series Most Valuable Player) and Boog Powell (that year's American League MVP) will throw out the game's ceremonial first pitches.

•American tenor Richard Troxell, a Thurmont native, will perform the Canadian and American national anthems. Troxell will also sing "God Bless America" during the seventh-inning stretch.
